Who ya got: Wentz or Goff?

It is the dawn of a new age for the Eagles organization. With the departure of Chip Kelly and the hiring of Doug Pederson, this season is bound to be interesting. On Tuesday afternoon, Howie Roseman and the rest of the Eagles front office made a huge decision to trade with the Cleveland Browns to move up to No. 2 in the NFL draft held on April 28th. In doing so, the Eagles gave up the No. 8 pick, a third round pick (#77), a fourth round pick (#100), a 2017 first round pick, and a 2018 second round pick. Don’t forget that Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso were also traded for the eighth pick nearly a year ago. There’s basically only two ways to look at this: either the Eagles traded FOR their future or they traded away their future. It is all depends on who they take with the pick and if that player becomes a huge impact in the league. Roseman has already come out and said that the Eagles will invest in a quarterback with the No. 2 pick, especially since they brought in so-called “QB guru” Doug Pederson. They will more than likely select one of two QBs with the No. 2 pick: Carson Wentz  from North Dakota State University or Jared Goff from Cal University. It solely relies on who the Los Angeles Rams decide to take with the first overall pick. Wentz is a pretty big kid, standing at nearly 6’5″ 240lbs  with a very respectable 40 yard dash time for a quarterback. At this point in time, Goff appears to be slightly less athletic but has a great arm and seems to have great decision making skills under center. It’s basically a win-win situation going with either guy, as long as both of them cash in on their potential and pan out as great quarterbacks in the NFL. Only time will tell…
